*Position Overview:* The Controller will oversee all financial, accounting, operational and reporting activities for multiple small business entities.
This role will lead day-to-day financial activities and will supervise a small accounting team which handles billing and accounts receivable, bank deposits, vendor payables and inventory, internal financial reporting, governmental compliance, and external financial reporting.
In addition to handling any payroll issues with our Paychex our payroll vendor.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Oversee all general ledger accounts, ledgers, journals, and reporting systems for multiple business entities.
* Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenues and expenditures of costs.
* Cash flow management.
* Strategic utilization of multiple entity inter-relationships and reconciliation of inter-company transactions.
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
* Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports to the CEO in a detailed, complete, accurate and timely manner.
* Implement a robust financial reporting system which ensures that details of contractual relationships are adhered to.
* Work with 3rdparty vendors such as TPA’s for employee benefit plans, governmental agencies, corporate council, and corporate tax advisors.
* Develop and implement multi-year planning strategies.
* Mentor and lead a team which continually ensures clarity and focus on priorities and goals, as regularly established.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
MBA and/or CPA highly preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years of broad financial experience which includes general ledger reconciliations, financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis.
* Proven knowledge of general ledger accounting and cash flow management.
* Proven skill in communicating advanced financial reporting to the CEO.
* Proven experience as a manager of others and of leadership abilities to lead and motivate a team.
* Proven experience in the setting of, and attainment of, goals.
* Strong knowledge of QuickBooks online and of Excel.
* Knowledge and experience with aspects of payroll operations.
This includes processing of wage reports and various types of compensation, withholdings and other payroll deductions, electronic filing, reporting requirements both with regard to the forms and with regard to the deadlines, confirmation of payments of payroll taxes and of employee benefits and, 401k plan operations.
* Technologically savvy, with experience selecting and overseeing basic software installations and with managing relationships with software vendors.
