The Accounting Clerk I is responsible for general ledger transactions, balancing, and reconciliations.
This position processes various general ledger entries and performs multiple support functions as required as a part of the accounting and record-keeping function of the credit union.
This position requires the ability to work effectively with others on a standard task, take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others, and ability to provide leadership to work independently.
Essential Job Functions: Focus on Purpose/Mission: Focuses on the Credit Union's Purpose and Mission Statement of creating financial wellness in our community through personal everyday banking.
Attention to Detail: Perform daily general ledger reconciliation and reporting support to the accounting team.
Collaborative: Supports Item Processing for ACH, Draft, and Wires.
Focused, Decision Making, and Problem-Solving: Process adjustments and exceptions for share drafts, ACH (both ODFI and RDFI), cash letters, and shared branching, returns, and return check items.
Engaged and Collaborative: Supports supply ordering for the credit union.

Core Process, Policy, and Procedure Review: Follows all company processes, policies, and procedures, including customer identification and all BSA requirements.

Item Processing support (ACH, Draft, Wire) Adjustment processing support Supply ordering support Requirements: An associate degree in accounting or commensurate experience in a financial institution Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, functions, etc.
) The Ideal Candidate: Is detail-oriented and curious and will leverage research to mitigate fraud losses.
Has a strong aptitude for accounting practices.
Possesses strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills Demonstrates excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Maintains a strict standard of confidentiality Performs well under pressure and is driven to meet deadlines while managing competing demands Exercises logical, informed, independent judgment Possesses both strong clerical and robust analytical skills.
