DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator - Medical Education is responsible for the administration of day-to-day operations of that support HFAH residency programs ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and Specialty-Specific Boards.
The Residency Coordinator works under the direction of Program Administrators and interacts with faculty, attending physicians, residents, medical students, the residency program clinical practice, other institutional departments, and regulatory authorities.
Duties include supporting resident recruitment, interview, selection, onboarding and orientation activities; organizing educational activities including schedules, evaluations and meeting logistics; monitoring and maintaining databases and records to insure compliance with accrediting bodies; and providing administrative support to your assigned program as well as the Graduate Medical Office (GME).
Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in Business, Education, Medical Administration or related field.
Minimum Work Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in a business office setting providing administrative support or two years of teaching experience in K-12.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Must have leadership skills and the ability to work with the medical staff, hospital administration and management, medical school Deans, management and staff, hospital employees and various contacts external to the hospital.
Must be multi-task oriented in a self-directed capacity.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Must have strong working knowledge of computers.
Must have knowledge and be able to apply rules and regulations by accrediting bodies including American Osteopathic.
Association (AOA) and the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Must have an understanding of resident and student schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Education, Medical Administration or related field.
