Hospice of Lenawee is hiring for a: CNA Hospice Aide - Part-time - Night Shift - Hospice Home The night shift position is from 7p - 7:30a and every 3rd weekend with a holiday rotation.
Our Hospice Home is an 8-bed hospice inpatient facility.
We're looking for a Michigan Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who brings excellence, compassion, and integrity to the end-of-life journey.

Essential Job Responsibilities of a CNA: Responsible for patient personal care including bath/shower, shampoo, shave, oral, skin and foot care and other personal care needs specified on Hospice Aide Care Plan.
Responsible for brief changes, bedpan, urinals, colostomy care, catheter care, and repositioning.
Answers call lights promptly and follows through with patient requests.
Responsible for housekeeping services such as linen changes, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, removal of trash, stocking supplies, tidying of patient rooms and common areas, and complete cleaning of patient rooms as required according to policies and protocols.
Compliance with federal, state, and local health department food and sanitation laws.
Responsible for following the policies and procedures for food storage, preparation, and distribution to the patients.
Prepares rooms for new patients.
Assists patients at mealtime, which may include meal preparation, distribution, feeding, and clean up.
Assists patients with simple exercises, passive and active range of motion, and ambulation as directed.
Observes patient's physical/emotional condition and reports observations and changes to RN or Residence Manger.
Completes mandatory training and attends staff meetings and in-services as required.
Hospice Aides are required to attend 12 hours (minimum) of in-service education each calendar year.
Hospice Aides will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing.
Hospice Aides will not administer medications, take physician orders, or perform procedures requiring training, knowledge, and skill of a licensed nurse.
Meets safety needs of patients and uses equipment safely and appropriately.
Documents and records care provided according to agency standards.
Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication, and performance of duties.
Be knowledgeable of and follow policies and procedures set by Hospice of Lenawee.
Holds all patient information in strictest confidence and discloses information and data only to persons authorized by Hospice of Lenawee.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as determined appropriate by supervisory staff and/or management.
Demonstrates willingness and flexibility to work different and/or extended shifts when needed.
Presents appropriate professional appearance in accordance with Hospice of Lenawee policies.
Participates in weekend and Holiday rotation.
Hospice of Lenawee direct care staff may have exposure to infectious diseases.
Must comply with standard precautions to prevent the spread of infectious disease.
Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training.
Complies with attendance policy and is physically at assigned location to fulfill job responsibilities and functions.
Qualifications of a CNA: Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities of a CNA: Ability to work independently in the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home Residence.
Ability to observe patient needs and report same to Residence Manager and/or RN.
Ability to pass food handler class.
Demonstrates excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively and professionally with patients, families, and other team members.
Demonstrates ability to function as a team member, collaborate with coworkers on different shifts, positions, and departments to promote teamwork and inclusion.
Demonstrates interest, compassion, and empathy for the terminally ill and is comfortable with issues of death and dying.
Is self-aware and asks for help when the need arises.
Demonstrates ability to read, write, and follow direction and instruction.
Has the physical ability necessary for extensive standing, lifting, and pushing.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Education/Credentials of a CNA: High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a home health aide training program.
Current Michigan CNA License.
Food handler card, required.
Experience of a CNA: Experience with dying patients and their families, hospice experience preferred.
Experience in health care, required.
