Overview: Job Purpose: This position will play a critical role in delivering actionable reporting, analytics and data-driven insights that support the effective design and management of our clients’ benefit plans.
This role will report into the US Analytics center of excellence and collaborate closely with all Gallagher subject matter experts.
This role will help to build out new and leverage current analytic tools as well as support our client in their ad-hoc reporting needs.
Successful candidate much possess strong communication skills in addition to technical skill such that actionable insight can be delivered effectively to a wide range of audiences.
Responsibilities: Client & Prospect Support Manage a book of key clients to deliver the Gallagher analytics engagement model to include recurring analysis, custom analytics and benchmarking.
Guide the completion of ad-hoc and research requests.
Support large and jumbo size prospect targets with data-driven insights, as needed.
Work closely with Director, Analytics COE leader and other key stakeholders to develop, improve and build upon our toolbox of benefits-focused analytic deliverables across the team.
Lead internal trainings of Analyst teams – both divisional and regional – as well as supporting branch-level promotion of data & analytics services and capabilities.
Assists in the development of analytics strategies, through documentation, presentation development and other supporting activities Assists with special projects or other assignments as instructed by your supervisor/manager.
Complete statistical research on client and 3rd party data for thought leadership.
Contribute to the expanded development of Health analytics reporting package.
Use Business Intelligence tools to design custom dashboards and scorecards.
Technical Expertise Work to develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the Benefit analytics market space to include vendors, point solutions and strategies.
Mentor junior team members and provide training on both core and complex analytic deliverables.
Manage work in through agile program manage techniques.
Manage analytics projects from start to finish, as needed.
Identify ongoing process improvement opportunities, and assist in the design, testing, documentation and implementation of process enhancements – also identifying opportunities for automation as they arise.
Engage in continued learning regarding analytics methods including but not limited to automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence Competencies, Expertise and Business Acumen Excellent verbal and written communication; Strong strategic thinker and incredibly collaborative – both with internal team members and other divisional stakeholders; Expertise as a “data storyteller” – ability to present reporting and analytics in a compelling and actionable way; and train others to do likewise; Self-starter with superb research skills and a general mindset of curiosity – investigating key drivers and root causes in data; Creative problem solver with strong critical thinking and analytical skills – collecting, organizing, analyzing and presenting significant amounts of information with attention to detail; Feels comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Consistently meets deadlines, and works well collaboratively as well as independently; Ability to sell the value of data analytics products and services by illustrating potential impact to prospects and clients.
Customer Service and Business Strategy Builds knowledge of Gallagher tools, systems and shared resources; Consistently follows client service workflows to ensure efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of execution; Is willing to go the “Extra Mile” to achieve results that benefit the client, the Branch and Gallagher; Accountable for managing client and prospect relationships by serving as a strategic liaison, as needed; Is able to adapt quickly to a variety of circumstances, and change approach when necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or Business-related field, and 5+ years of Benefits, financial or analytics consulting experience; Analytics, Data Science or Actuarial background preferred, but not required; Superior Excel and data analysis skills, including a working knowledge of PowerBI and/or SQL.
