This Benefit Advisory Manager works with sales and service teams to create effective employee benefit strategies in alignment with the department's objectives and procedures.
This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Benefit Advisory Department, ensuring the team's development, and acting as a working team leader.
The Benefit Advisory Manager's essential functions include:
Consultative Leadership
Provide consultative guidance to Kapnick teams on carrier products, rates, and coverage knowledge.
Assist in the professional development of Benefit Advisory staff members.
Training & Development
Participate in the development of workflows and lead training initiatives for the Benefit Advisory Department.
Conduct coaching conversations and identify areas for staff development.
Team Management
Ensure proper workloads and staffing levels within the department.
Provide direction on key objectives and strategies outlined by EB leadership.
Communication & Collaberation
Communicate updates to the Employee Benefits Department that may impact daily activities.
Collaborate with sales and service teams to perform financial analysis of employee benefit plans.
Negotiation & Marketing Analysis
Determine appropriate markets and prepare Request for Proposals (RFP's)
Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to secure the best pricing for renewals and new business offerings.
Analytics & Data Management
Develop an in-depth understanding of complex matters related to carrier renewal development methodology.
Apply knowledge of various benchmarking sources and coordinate the delivery of Kapnick data analytics internally and externally.
Resolve ongoing data issues with vendors.

Requirements:
To be considered for the Benefit Advisory Manager position, you should have:
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) in Mathematics or related field: Preferred
5+ years of experience in Employee Group Benefits: Required
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
Familiarity with carrier underwriting tools (employee benefits) and agency management systems: Preferred
Innovative thinker with excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines
Comfortable in networking and building relationships
