*Position Description:*
The Michigan Facilities & Grounds Assistant Manager is part of the team responsible for the year-round maintenance and upkeep of all buildings, facilities, and grounds located on the Michigan campus of Youth Haven.
This position focuses on working on daily projects around Youth Haven’s facilities and grounds and along other staff and volunteers.
*Principal Responsibilities:*
● plumbing, electrical, carpentry, grounds work, and other areas of facility maintenance and upkeep at the Youth Haven Michigan campus.
● Assist in leading staff and volunteers working on facility and grounds projects at the campus.
This includes assisting the Manager with the development of a “master list” of projects and working on tasks as assigned.
This also includes working with volunteers to ensure completion of each in a timely manner and with excellence.
● In coordination with the Facilities and Grounds Manager, ensure the campus is maintained according to all state and local regulations and standards and remains in a state of readiness for local and state inspections.
● Assist with maintaining and operating all Youth Haven owned vehicles (cars & trucks, mowing equipment, tractors and implements.
)
● Assist with facility & grounds setup needed for special events held at the campus.
● Assist with tours, special guest visits, and other things occurring at the campus as requested.
● Be available and “on-call” with other facility and grounds staff to ensure off-hour coverage each week, especially when children or outside groups are on-site.
● Assist with budget and expense management for the Michigan campus facilities and grounds.

● A mission minded, servant attitude required.
While position will have normal working hours, being on call for emergency needs is necessary, especially when children are on site.
● Proven experience and demonstrated skill in areas of general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, drywall, general carpentry, pool maintenance, and grounds care.
● Detail oriented with a desire for excellence.
● Excellent communication skills.
● Experience leading volunteers of varying ages and abilities a definite plus
● Ability to work in a team environment with staff and volunteers.
● Organized and self-motivated
● _*Relocation to on-site housing (provided by Youth Haven) required or must live within 20 minutes of the Michigan campus in Rives Junction.
