Position Purpose: The purpose of the Shop Supervisor is to maintain service operations for JANX by managing shop personnel, shop productivity, and vehicle maintenance programs to ensure centralized support meets operational and client requirements in safe and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for providing the necessary leadership to plan, organize, assign tasks, direct, coordinate, and control the in- house shop floor operations to meet all operational requirements.
Manage JANX shop operations: vehicle conversions, vehicle maintenance, equipment build such as darkrooms, and recommending equipment purchase and capex requirements as business demands change ensuring necessity and cost-conscious decision making.
Manage shop personnel to ensure priorities are established and deadlines are met per operational requirements, deadlines, and needs.
Ensure shop productivity meets operational, quality, and safety expectations.
Assist with JANX fleet management including fleet inventory, maintenance and repairs decisions and initiatives.
Partner with operations to ensure the latest technology is used to optimize and improve fleet performance.
Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to technician complaints and feedback; conducting inspections and troubleshooting problems; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage; keeping in mind cost conscious repair decisions in the interest of JANX.
Keep fleet operational and ready for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters, as necessary and required for maximum reliability.
Ensures compliance with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs as required by JANX policy.
Contain and manages costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options; making decisions that are in line with JANX cost control strategy.
Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
Follow and enforce Company policies at all times.

Ability to use diagnostic equipment on both diesel and gasoline engine systems and components to identify and fix problems in increasingly complicated mechanical and electronic systems.
Familiarity with electronic control systems and the appropriate tools to fix and maintain them.
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.
) and precision measurement tools (ex.
calipers).
