The *Inventory Systems Specialist *will be responsible for managing the inventory, distribution, and analyses of raw materials, manufacturing supplies and consumables, equipment spare parts, and general equipment used in the production of vacuum insulated glass.
Additionally, they will lead the development of the raw material, supplies, and equipment spares management system through SAP Business 1 as we launch Factory 1 including the following: material and supply sourcing and receiving, inventory management, source justification, cost comparisons and budget variance assessment, and key component stock decisions.
*Position Responsibilities* * Lead development and organization of manufacturing inventory systems including raw materials, manufacturing supplies and consumables, manufacturing PPE, equipment spares, and repair and maintenance tools.
* Implement SAP Business 1 for all manufacturing inventory systems including integration and connection to the Llumin maintenance application.
* Develop SAP Business 1 operating business rules for minimum and maximum inventory levels, budgets for all purchases goods categories, variance reports for tracking actual spend versus budget, and self-checking protocol.
* Lead the implementation of the equipment spare parts for creation of the catalog, stock levels and locations, and develop predictive and preventative maintenance guidelines in coordination with the maintenance team.
* Responsible for Inventory analysis and reporting for the full plant environment, including setting/adjusting minimum and maximum inventory levels according to production levels.
* Responsible for coordinating physical inventory audits including periodic random audits working with the plant controller.
* Perform inventory cycle counts to maintain proper levels of both direct raw materials, manufacturing supplies and consumables, and equipment spares.
* Work with each manufacturing department to manage their needs and expectations including continuous improvement to reduce spending, waste, and labor hours associated with inventory systems and processes.
* Responsible for generating weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports detailing business performance for inventoried materials and systems.
* Oversee development of plant tool systems in SAP Business 1 and Llumin including record keeping of tools and equipment issued and returned.
* Receive and distribute incoming raw materials, consumables, supplies, and other items.
* Collaborate with purchasing team for entry, approval, verification, and processing.
* Obtain delivery dates from departments and suppliers items to expedite priorities and preclude shortages, including transporting tools to affected departments to maintain schedules.
* Respond to expedited requests and coordinate materials for delivery to users as required.
* Work closely with the warehouse team to organize, safeguard and when necessary, package and prepare shipments.
*Position Requirements* * Bachelor Degree preferred or Associate Degree with relevant experience.
* Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in inventory systems, warehousing, and logistics.
* Manufacturing or warehouse experience in shipping and receiving is required.
* Ability to follow established procedures from scratch.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and strong Excel data base skills * MRP and ERP System experience required with implementation experience preferred.
* Strong attention to detail, solid analytical and organizational skills.
* Problem solving skills sufficient to address both routine and non-routine problems.
* Communication skills to interact with employees and suppliers in a professional manner.
* Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks as required.
* Familiar with equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in the production process.
* Ability to work effectively with people and lead through influence.
