Primary Function:
Position is responsible for ensuring the quality and production process control functions at Elm Plating Company – Dipspin Division and that parts processed meet all customer expectations.
Will quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found.
Implements and coordinates all Quality and Process Control procedures and improvements.
Specific Duties and Responsiblities:
Troubleshoot processing problems for areas of responsibility and implement control & reaction procedures for operators to minimize process variation.
Provide hands-on assistance to Manufacturing personnel on the production floor to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions in order to optimize repeatability.
Perform data collection, analysis, and 8D/5P presentation of results/recommendations to customers, production team associates and management.
Develop verification methods to assure 8D/5P activities are effective and maintained.
Proactively plan and control to assure product and process quality in accordance with established quality principles to eliminate potential sources of failure.
This includes planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
Assure an effective program launch process is in place to have projects deliver successful results within committed timelines.
Collaborate with Sales, Production and Management to ensure quality standards are integrated into new products and processes so production performance and output is to the specifications as required by the customer.
Design and implement sustained processes and improvements for new and existing products, including documentation, visual management and training.
Define and conduct product and process audits to ensure finished goods conform to specified performance requirements.
Administer the verification/calibration process for all process monitoring and product inspection equipment.
Job Qualifications:
Must a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Quality/Process Engineering Field.
Working knowledge of FMEA, PPAP and IATF 16949, and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience in sample control plans, quality core tools submission to the automotive industry.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Must maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Must be able to communicate well with all levels of management, customers, and plant employees both verbally and in written form.
Must have ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Must have ability to work without constant supervision and to make appropriate decisions.
Must be able to process work with accuracy.
Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job may require mobility throughout the plants and may also require extended periods of sitting.
