Job Title: Corrosion Testing Specialist
Shift: Full time, first shift
Work Location: Jackson, Michigan
We are seeking qualified applicants for a Corrosion Testing Specialist in Jackson, Michigan.
The Corrosion Testing Specialist is responsible for performing testing on customer samples, maintaining and operating laboratory equipment, and completing testing reports in an accredited laboratory setting.
Depending on the workload and other priorities as established by the Team Leader or Laboratory Manager, assistance in other functional areas may be required.
Your tests and evaluations will assess the performance and durability of materials and coatings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corrosion testing methodologies, equipment, and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
Perform corrosion testing on a variety of materials and coatings using established testing methods and procedures.
Conduct laboratory experiments and field tests to evaluate the corrosion resistance of materials and coatings.
Analyze and interpret test results, prepare detailed reports, and make recommendations for improvement or corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrosion prevention strategies and solutions.
Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in corrosion testing techniques.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding corrosion testing and mitigation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in corrosion testing methodologies, equipment, and data analysis.
Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, types, and prevention techniques.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to corrosion testing.
Proficient in using various corrosion testing equipment and software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
NACE certification in corrosion testing or related field.
Experience with electrochemical testing techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry.
Knowledge of corrosion testing in specific industries such as oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, or marine.
