Deadline: March 7, 2024 District/Organization: Jackson County ISD Position/Type: Teacher, full time Salary: $50,498-$101,198 Position Details Summary: Provide educational and personal/social service for emotionally impaired students.
Duties include classroom instruction and development of behavioral management strategies.
Assessment of students, student guidance, parent conferencing and other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for planning instruction and/or adaption of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following: (Does not include all tasks employee may be expected to perform.
) Implements instructional activities defined by existing performance objectives.
Plans and develops student activities in coordination with teacher assistants.
Maintains effective relationships with ancillary staff and parents.
Maintains all records pertaining to instructional activities.
Provides a basic core program for emotionally impaired students and sees to the development of behavioral management strategies.
Works with students to improve relationships.
Instructs individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
Plans curriculum, lessons, and Special Education programs and teaching methods.
Evaluates student’s progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observations made in and out of the classroom.
Maintains physical environment of the classroom.
Maintains contact with parents of students.
Works with staff to coordinate goals and objectives.
Assists the emotionally impaired students in making a realistic assessment of their abilities and establishing educational goals in keeping with these abilities.
Evaluates student’s progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
Assists in screening, evaluating and recommending placements of applicants in the schools emotionally impaired program.
Prepares report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.
Regular and predictable in-person attendance is required for his position.
Perform other duties as assigned.
